MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MoU)

BETWEEN:

saltco — The Geospatial Open-Source Community Initiative (hereinafter referred to as the "Execution Partner")

Represented by its Founder and Community Director

AND:

(hereinafter referred to as the "Diaspora Resource Partner")

1. PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE

The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is to establish a collaborative framework to accelerate digital literacy, digital independence, and advanced open-source geospatial education for students, professionals, and public organizations across Sudan.

Both parties agree to combine the active on-the-ground training infrastructure, digital libraries, and youth networks of the Execution Partner with the professional expertise, academic networks, and resource-mobilization capabilities of the Diaspora Resource Partner.

2. CORE PRINCIPLES & GUARDRAILS

To preserve the foundational mission of the community, both parties explicitly agree to the following operational guardrails:

3. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

A. The Execution Partner (On-The-Ground Community) commits to:

  1. Curriculum Delivery: Managing and executing the 4-Track Digital Literacy & Geospatial Roadmap via the established website, YouTube channel, and local community chat hubs.
  2. Field Mobilization: Coordinating physical outreach, digital library distribution sessions, and mapathons at Sudanese universities, schools, and civic organizations.
  3. Operations & Mentorship Matching: Managing the local intake of students, tracking performance, and connecting high-potential graduates with diaspora mentors.
  4. Impact Tracking: Collecting anonymous data on student completion rates, offline drive distribution, and publishing localized case studies.

B. The Diaspora Resource Partner (Alumni Network) commits to:

  1. Expert Masterclasses: Organizing and delivering specialized, high-level virtual guest lectures (e.g., cloud spatial programming, advanced remote sensing, spatial AI) to enrich Track 3 and Track 4 students.
  2. Resource Mobilization: Financing or sourcing critical offline infrastructure packages, including low-bandwidth SSD/USB digital libraries, single-board computers, or internet data stipends for top regional coordinators.
  3. Career Mentorship: Providing 1-on-1 career guidance, portfolio reviews, and international academic/professional networking pathways for selected top-tier graduates of the program.
  4. Strategic Advisory: Reviewing curriculum updates to ensure skills align with global market demands and international standards.

4. THE 12-WEEK PILOT INITIATIVE (PHASE 1)

To validate operational compatibility without immediate financial risk, both parties agree to execute an initial 12-Week Pilot Framework:
